Case Study 1 - Front garden October 2007
The customer for this garden wanted to replace the sloping path to the front door with steps and to create a level area of paving big enough to comfortably fit a couple of seats to enjoy the sun.
After the initial consultation I was able to draw a basic design, this enabled me to provide an accurate quote for the project.

Day 1
- The garden was cleared of all unwanted plants, all green waste gets taken to Forth Resource Management where it is turned into compost.
- The proposed area of paving was excavated, disposing of the waste in a skip.

Day 2
- The footings for the low retaining wall and steps were excavated and filled with concrete.
- The sub base for the paving was spread, levelled and compacted.
Day 3
- The retaining wall and brickwork for the steps were constructed.
- We started laying the paving using Stonemarket Marketstone Buff Multi natural sandstone slabs.
Day 4
- We finished laying the paving including cutting the slabs to fit along the curved retaining wall.
- The coping stones were laid along the wall.
Day 5
- All paving joints were filled.
- Turf was laid.
